Marcel Schrötter hat sich für die letzten Rennen der Saison, die am kommenden Wochenende mit der Runde 10 der FIM Supersport World Championship auf der spanischen Rennstrecke MotorLand Aragón beginnen, viel vorgenommen.

Mit der Gewissheit, die letzten Strecken des Kalenders gut zu kennen, blickt Marcel Schrötter erleichtert auf die kommenden Aufgaben. Die Veranstaltung im MotorLand Aragón, unweit der spanischen Stadt Alcaniz, bildet zugleich den Auftakt zu den Back-to-Back-Rennen mit Portimao in Portugal in einer Woche. An beiden Orten hat der 30-jährige Schrötter in seiner Grand-Prix-Karriere schon viele Runden abgespult, was ihm nun helfen soll, den Rückstand auf den bisher überlegenen Italiener Nicolo Bulega aufzuholen. In die Rennen in Aragón, Portimao und beim Saisonfinale in Jerez de la Frontera Ende Oktober geht Schrötter mit dem festen Vorsatz, Bulega das Leben an der Spitze schwer zu machen.

Das Rennwochenende beginnt am Freitag mit den beiden freien Trainings, bevor es am Samstagmorgen direkt in die Superpole geht, in der die Startaufstellung festgelegt wird. Das erste Rennen des Wochenendes startet dann am Samstagnachmittag um 15:15 Uhr, Rennen 2 wird am Sonntag wieder zur üblichen Zeit um 12:30 Uhr gestartet. Der österreichische Rechteinhaber im deutschsprachigen Raum, ServusTV, wird live von den wichtigsten Entscheidungen des Wochenendes berichten. "Ich bin froh, dass es ohne längere Unterbrechung mit dem nächsten Rennwochenende weitergeht. Ich freue mich auch darauf, wieder auf eine Strecke zu kommen, die ich bereits kenne und kann daher davon ausgehen, dass ich mich von Anfang an wohl fühlen werde. Trotzdem dürfen wir es nicht unterschätzen, denn wir wissen, dass wir noch Arbeit vor uns haben. Es ist auch noch unklar, was in Bezug auf das Reglement passieren wird und wie wir im Hinblick auf die Elektronik an unserem Motorrad konkurrieren werden."

"Nichtsdestotrotz werde ich von der ersten Runde an alles geben, damit wir von Anfang an gut in Form sind, gute Arbeit leisten und schnell auf Touren kommen. Das Ziel am Freitag ist es, die Basis zu schaffen, damit wir nach dem Qualifying zumindest in den ersten beiden Reihen stehen. Nur so können wir in den Rennen wieder ein Wörtchen mitreden. Unser Ziel ist auf jeden Fall wieder das Podium und so nah wie möglich an Bulega dran zu sein, auch wenn er wieder mit großem Abstand das Tempo vorgeben sollte. Gegen Ende der Saison möchte ich endlich in der Lage sein, um den Sieg kämpfen zu können."

EN: Start of season's last race weekends with overdue race victory

Marcel Schrötter has his sights set high for the final races of the season, which begin this weekend with round 10 of FIM Supersport World Championship at Spain's MotorLand Aragón circuit.

With the certainty of knowing the last tracks of the calendar pretty well, Marcel Schrötter looks forward to the upcoming tasks with relief. This weekend’s event at MotorLand Aragón, not far from the Spanish city of Alcaniz, also marks the start of back-to-back races with Portimao in Portugal in a week's time. At both venues, 30-year-old Schrötter has already done many laps in his Grand Prix career, which should help now to close the gap on the class’s so far dominating Italian Nicolo Bulega. Schrötter goes into the races in Aragón, Portimao and the season finale in Jerez de la Frontera at the end of October with the firm intention of making life difficult for Bulega at the top.

The race weekend begins on Friday with the two free practice sessions before going straight into Superpole on Saturday morning, where the starting grid will be determined. The first race of the weekend will then start on Saturday afternoon at 3:15 p.m., with Race 2 returning to the usual time of 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Austrian rights holder in the German-speaking region, ServusTV, will provide live coverage of the most important decisions of the weekend. Nevertheless, we may not underestimate the situation, because we know we still have work to do. Furthermore, it is also still unclear what will happen in terms of regulations and how we will compete in terms of electronics on our bike."

"Nevertheless, I will be giving everything from the first lap so that we are in good shape right from the start, doing a good job and get up to speed quickly. The goal on Friday is to create the basis so that we are at least in the top two rows after qualifying. That is the only way we can have a say in the races again. Our goal is definitely the podium again and to be as close as possible to Bulega, even if he should set the pace again with a large gap.
