Marcel Schrötter hat sich mit seinem aktuellen Team MV Agusta Reparto Corse darauf geeinigt, ein weiteres Jahr in der FIM Supersport World Championship zu fahren.

Der 30-jährige Marcel Schrötter, der seine Rookie-Saison in der Supersport-Weltmeisterschaft auf dem dritten Gesamtrang beendet, ist nach Prüfung mehrerer Optionen zu dem Schluss gekommen, dass ihm die italienische Edelmarke MV Agusta zusammen mit seinem aktuellen Team das beste Gesamtpaket bieten kann. Ein entsprechender Vertrag wurde in den letzten Tagen unterzeichnet. In diesem Zusammenhang hat Schrötter auch vertraglich vereinbart, sich ein Team mit hohen Erfolgsaussichten in der FIM Endurance World Championship suchen zu können, um diese Serie neben der Priorität Supersport zu bestreiten.

"Ich bin sehr glücklich und auch froh, dass es für mich mit MV Agusta in der Supersport-Weltmeisterschaft weitergeht. Natürlich habe ich mir auch andere Optionen angesehen, was normal ist, aber am Ende haben mir MV Agusta und mein aktuelles Team das beste Paket geboten. Ich habe auch das Gefühl, dass in diesem Jahr eine Menge Motivation entstanden ist, da wir starke Ergebnisse erzielen konnten. Aber wir haben auch deutlich gemerkt, wo wir noch Nachholbedarf haben und in welchen Bereichen wir uns noch verbessern müssen. Ich spüre viel Enthusiasmus innerhalb des Teams, auch vom Teamchef, um die nächsten Schritte zu gehen und einige Dinge zu verbessern."

"Es beginnt mit mehr zugesagten Tests, sowie der Weiterentwicklung des Motorrads und das Material wird zunehmend gepusht. Das steigert auch meine Motivation, mit diesem Paket, dem Motorrad und der Marke um Siege zu kämpfen und hoffentlich im nächsten Jahr ein wenig mehr in den Titelkampf eingreifen zu können, bzw. um den Titel zu kämpfen. Das ist auf jeden Fall unser gemeinsames Ziel. Ich bin schon aufgeregt und freue mich auch darauf, daran zu arbeiten, wie sehr wir unser Paket verbessern können. Ich bin wirklich glücklich, Teil dieses Projekts zu sein. Gleichzeitig möchte ich mich bei MV Agusta und Teamchef Andrea Quadranti dafür bedanken, dass sie mich neben der Supersport-Weltmeisterschaft auch in der Langstrecken-Weltmeisterschaft fahren lassen. Aber da bin ich noch am Schauen, welche guten Möglichkeiten sich für mich ergeben. Der Langstreckensport reizt mich und es ist sicherlich ein Thema, das ich in Zukunft oder schon im nächsten Jahr ernsthafter angehen möchte."

"Die Supersport-Weltmeisterschaft mit MV Agusta hat natürlich Vorrang, aber die EWC-Serie passt gut, um meinen Rennkalender etwas zu erweitern und mit einem guten Team auch in dieser Meisterschaft vorne dabei zu sein. Aber vorher muss ich sehen, was passiert. Zum Schluss noch ein grosses Dankeschön an alle Beteiligten, nicht zu vergessen meine Sponsoren, die mich im letzten Winter unterstützt haben, als ich den Schritt in die Supersport-Weltmeisterschaft gemacht habe. Ohne sie wäre es einfach nicht möglich, meinen Sport auf höchstem Niveau auszuüben. Ich hoffe, dass es mit meinen langjährigen Partnern, die jetzt mehr als Sponsoren sind, denn ich zähle sie alle zu meinem Freundeskreis, weitergeht und wir noch viele Erfolge in dieser Meisterschaft feiern können. Der dritte Platz in der Gesamtwertung in diesem Jahr war der Anfang und hoffentlich können wir gemeinsam noch grössere Erfolge feiern."

The experienced German rider has reached an agreement with his current team MV Agusta Reparto Corse to compete another year in FIM Supersport World Championship.

After considering several options, 30-year-old Marcel Schrötter, who is finishing his rookie season in Supersport World Championship in third place overall, has come to the conclusion that the Italian brand MV Agusta, together with his current team, can offer him the best package overall. A contract to this effect was signed in the last few days. In this context, Schrötter has also contractually agreed to be able to look for a team with high chances of success in FIM Endurance World Championship in order to contest this series alongside his priority in Supersport.

"I am very happy and also glad that I can continue with MV Agusta in Supersport World Championship. Of course, I looked at other options, which is normal, but in the end, MV Agusta and my current team offered me the best package. I also feel that there has been a lot of motivation rising this year, as we have been able to achieve strong results. But we also clearly noticed where we still need to catch up compared to other manufacturers and in which areas we need to improve. I sense a lot of enthusiasm within the team, including from the team boss, to take the next steps and improve some things."

"It starts with more tests I asked for and get promised now, as well as further developments to the bike and the material will be increasingly pushed. That also increases my motivation to fight for victories with this package, the bike and the brand, and hopefully to be able to intervene a bit more in the fight for the title next year, or to fight for the title. That is definitely our goal together. I am already excited and also looking forward to working on how much we can improve our package because I am really happy to be part of this project. At the same time, I want to thank MV Agusta and the team’s principal Andrea Quadranti for letting me race in World Endurance in addition to Supersport World Championship. But I am still looking at what good opportunities there are for me. Endurance racing excites me, and it is certainly a topic I would like to tackle more seriously in the future or as early as next year."

"Supersport World Championship with MV Agusta has priority, of course, but the EWC series fits well to expand my racing calendar a bit and to be up to the front in this championship as well with a good team. But before that I have to see what happens. Finally, a big thank you to everyone involved, not forgetting my sponsors who were very loyal to me last winter when I took the step from Grand Prix racing to Supersport World Championship. Without them, it simply would not be possible to practice my sport at the highest level. I hope that things will continue with my long-time partners, who are meanwhile more than sponsors because I count them all among very good friends of mine, and that we can celebrate many more successes in this championship. Third place overall this year was the beginning and hopefully we can celebrate even greater successes together."
