Marcel Schrötter geht hochmotiviert in das kommende Rennwochenende auf dem Cremona Circuit, nachdem er im zweiten Rennen in Assen Mitte April mit der schnellsten Rennrunde ein besonderes Ausrufezeichen gesetzt hat.

Dennoch verpasste Marcel Schrötter am Rennsonntag in den Niederlanden das Podium, obwohl er zeitweise der schnellste Fahrer auf der Strecke war. Mit klaren Zielen und Vorstellungen davon, was verbessert werden muss, will der Ducati-Pilot dies an diesem Wochenende wieder gut machen.

Der Circuit im norditalienischen Cremona, im Städtedreieck Parma, Piacenza und Brescia gelegen, wurde erst im vergangenen Jahr in den WM-Kalender aufgenommen und hat sich auf Anhieb bewährt, obwohl sie bis dahin eine völlig unbeschriebene Strecke war. Mit 3,7 Kilometern ist sie die kürzeste des Jahres und trotz des begrenzten Platzangebots haben die Organisatoren ganze Arbeit geleistet und den Cremona Circuit trotz anfänglicher Vorbehalte als Fixpunkt in der FIM Supersport World Championship zu etablieren.

Live-Übertragungen der Supersport-Rennen gibt es an diesem Wochenende wie gewohnt auf digitalen Plattformen wie dem Online-Portal des österreichischen Senders «ServusTV On», dem «Eurosport Player» und auf der offiziellen WorldSBK-Website geben, wo alle Sessions des Wochenendes live übertragen werden. Letztere ist allerdings kostenpflichtig und verfügt über einen englischen Kommentar.

«Ich liebe es einfach Rennen zu fahren. Eine Pause mit zwei freien Wochenenden ist also ein bisschen zu viel für mich. Ich freue mich also, dass es in Cremona weitergeht und bin motiviert wie immer. Das zweite Rennen in Assen hat uns Auftrieb gegeben und uns sehr deutlich gezeigt, dass wir nicht so weit weg sind von der Spitze. Wir wissen, was wir noch verbessern müssen, sowohl was mich als auch das Gesamtpaket angeht. Ich bin mir sicher, dass wir um das Podium kämpfen werden, wenn wir in diesen Details Fortschritte machen. Ich fühle mich wohl mit der Ducati und bin glücklich in meiner Umgebung. Aber es fehlen noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten, weshalb wir da und dort Zehntel leigenlassen. Daran arbeiten wir hart, und hoffentlich können wir in Cremona den einen oder anderen Schritt machen. Letztes Jahr war Cremona ein solides Wochenende für mich, und die Strecke macht mit einer Supersport-Rennmaschine viel Spass. Ich freue mich also sehr darauf und sage einfach «Ciao Bella Italia». Auch das Wetter sieht vorerst gut aus. Mal sehen, ob die Gewittervorhersage für Sonntag stimmt. Ansonsten freue ich mich darauf, meine Jungs wiederzusehen und Vollgas zu geben. Hoffentlich gelingt uns ein besserer Start in das Wochenende mit einer starken Superpole und dann zwei guten Rennen, die uns in der Punktetabelle weiter nach vorne bringen.»

EN: With a boost to Cremona

Marcel Schrötter is highly motivated going into the upcoming race weekend at the Cremona Circuit after setting a special exclamation mark with the fastest race lap in the second race in Assen in mid of last month.

Nevertheless, Marcel Schrötter missed out a rostrum finish on race Sunday in the Netherlands, despite being the fastest rider on track at times. With clear goals and ideas about what needs to be improved, the Ducati rider wants to make amends this weekend.

The Cremona Circuit in Italy’s Lombardy region, located in the city triangle of Parma, Piacenza and Brescia, was only added to the world championship’s calendar last year and proved its worth straight away, although it was a completely undescribed venue until then. With 3.7 kilometres, it is the shortest of the year and despite the limited space available, the organisers have done a great job of establishing the Cremona Circuit as a fixture in the FIM Supersport World Championship despite initial reservations.

«I just love racing. So, a break with two weekends off is a bit too much for me. So, I am looking forward keep going again in Cremona, and I am as motivated as ever. The second race in Assen gave us a boost and showed us very clearly that we are not that far away from the top. We know what we still need to improve, both in terms of myself and the overall package. I am sure that we will be fighting for the podium if we make progress in these details. I feel comfortable with the Ducati and am happy in my environment. But there are still a few small things missing, which is why we are losing tenths here and there. We are working hard on this and hopefully we can make the one or another step in Cremona. Last year Cremona was a solid weekend for me, and the track provides a lot of fun racing with a Supersport bike. So, I am really looking forward to it and just say ‘Ciao Bella Italia’. The weather also looks good for the time being. Let's see if the thunderstorm forecast for Sunday is correct. Otherwise, I am looking forward to seeing my boys again and going full throttle. Hopefully we can make a better start to the weekend with a strong Superpole and then two good races that will us move further up the points table.»
