Marcel Schrötter konnte nur in der Anfangsphase des Rennens am Sonntag in Ungarn Eindruck hinterlassen und fiel schliesslich auf den elften Platz zurück.

Eine Sturmfront mit einem kurzen Regenschauer am frühen Morgen trug nicht dazu bei, die Situation für Marcel Schrötter zu verbessern, obwohl der Rennsonntag auf dem Balaton Park Circuit unter stark bewölktem Himmel und kühleren Temperaturen stattfand.

Das Warm-up am Morgen auf regennasser Strecke war für den 32-jährigen Ducati-Pilot praktisch die erste Erfahrung bei solchen Bedingungen in diesem Jahr. Schrötter beendete die Session auf Platz 18. Danach trocknete die Strecke ab.

Bis zum Start des Rennens am Nachmittag schauten alle immer wieder zum Himmel, um zu sehen, ob es trocken bleiben würde oder nicht. Bei stabilen Bedingungen gelang Schrötter aus der fünften Reihe ein guter Start und reihte sich im Chaos der ersten engen Kurve an der richtigen Stelle ein, sodass er die erste Runde als Sechster beendete. Trotz aller Bemühungen konnte er diese Position nur wenige Runden halten, da er sich gegen die Konkurrenten hinter ihm nicht verteidigen konnte.

Die Meisterschaft geht nun in eine sechswöchige Sommerpause und kehrt am ersten Septemberwochenende mit dem Meeting in Magny-Cours, Frankreich, zurück.

«Das Wochenende in Ungarn war erneut enttäuschend. Ich hatte auf eine Wende gehofft, damit ich beruhigt in die Sommerpause gehen kann. Aber es gab keine Fortschritte. Seit mehreren Rennen kann ich mich nicht mehr in echte Kämpfe einmischen. Der Sonntag war nicht anders; ich wurde einfach überholt. Ich war ein leichtes Opfer für die anderen. Es muss also dringend etwas passieren. Mein Bauchgefühl sagt mir dasselbe, denn wir ziehen alle an einem Strang und wollen vorankommen. Der Teambesitzer war dieses Mal vor Ort und konnte sich ein Bild von der Situation machen, denn auch er möchte unbedingt, dass sich die Dinge verbessern. Jetzt gehen wir in die Sommerpause, arbeiten an den notwendigen Änderungen und starten dann in den letzten vier Rennwochenenden neu durch.»

EN: Premiere at Lake Balaton did not bring luck

Marcel Schrötter only managed to make impression sin the early stages of Sunday's race in Hungary, eventually dropping down the order to eleventh place.

A thunderstorm with a brief rain shower in the early morning hours did nothing to improve the situation for Marcel Schrötter, even though race Sunday at the new Balaton Park Circuit took place under heavily overcast skies and cooler temperatures.

The morning’s warm-up session at a rain-soaked track was practically the 32-year-old Ducati rider's first experience in such conditions this year. Schrötter finished the session in 18th place though, after that, the track dried out.

Until the start of the race in the afternoon, everyone kept looking up at the sky to see whether it would stay dry or not. In stable conditions, Schrötter got off to a good start from the fifth row and slotted into the right position in the chaos of the first tight corner, finishing the first lap in sixth place. Despite his best efforts, he was only able to hold this position for a few laps as he was unable to defend himself against the competitors behind him.

The championship now enters a six-week summer break and returns on the first weekend of September with the meeting in Magny-Cours, France.

«The weekend in Hungary was a disappointing one once again. I had hoped for a turnaround so that I could go into the summer break feeling calm. But there was no progress. For several races now, I have not been able to get involved in any real battles. Sunday was no different; I was simply overtaken. I was an easy victim for the others. So, something urgently needs to happen. My gut feeling tells me the same thing, because we are all pulling in the same direction and want to move forward. This weekend, the team owner was there and was able to get an impression of the situation, because he too is desperate for things to improve. Now we are going into the summer break, working on the necessary changes, and then we will start afresh in the last four race weekends.»
