Marcel Schrötter wird auch diesem Samstag als Sechster aus der zweiten Reihe starten, was berechtigte Hoffnung auf eine Fortsetzung des in Cremona eingeschlagenen Weges gibt.

Zum Auftakt des zehnten Rennwochenendes auf der spanischen Rennstrecke MotorLand Aragón konnte der 31-jährige Marcel Schrötter nahtlos an seine Leistung von Cremona eine Woche zuvor anknüpfen. Der wiedererstarkte MV Agusta Pilot beendete das freie Training am späten Freitagmorgen auf dem fünften Platz, was ihn für die Superpole, die über die Startaufstellung entscheidet, hoffen liess.

Am Nachmittag konnte Schrötter bei heissen Bedingungen in der Zeitenjagd nach den besten Startplätzen seine vorherige persönliche Bestzeit um 0,7 Sekunden unterbieten. Mit starken 1´53.387 belegte er den sechsten Platz und freute sich auch über den geringen Rückstand auf die Pole-Zeit des überlegenen WM-Leaders Adrian Huertas aus Spanien.

"Der sechste Platz in der Superpole war eine weitere solide Leistung. Aus der zweiten Reihe zu starten ist völlig in Ordnung, auch wenn ich nach dem freien Training vielleicht etwas mehr erwartet hätte. Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass ich noch etwas im Köcher habe. Aber man weiß ja nie genau, was die Konkurrenz im freien Training macht, was die Reifen angeht. Leider hatten wir in beiden Trainingssitzungen gewisse Probleme, weshalb wir unser Potenzial nicht voll ausschöpfen konnten. Die Ursache ist noch ein wenig unklar, aber meine Jungs arbeiten hart daran, sie zu finden."

"Abgesehen davon fühle ich mich mit dem Motorrad so wohl wie schon lange nicht mehr in diesem Jahr. Ich bin also sehr zufrieden mit der Situation. Hoffentlich können wir einen guten Start hinlegen, um unser Manko in der Anfangsphase auszugleichen, wo wir definitiv immer etwas Zeit verlieren. Insgesamt läuft bisher alles gut, und ich freue mich auf die Rennen, bei denen die ersten Runden entscheidend sein werden, um im Spiel zu bleiben. Es wird auch sehr spannend sein zu sehen, wie sich die Reifen aufgrund des neuen Asphalts über die Distanz verhalten. Zum Ende hin könnte es durchaus sein, dass es nur noch ums Durchkommen geht. Aber wir gehen am Samstagnachmittag aus einer guten Position ins Rennen, deshalb bin ich sehr zufrieden."

Marcel Schrötter will also start this Saturday from sixth place on the grid, which gives legitimate hope for a continuation of the path taken recently in Cremona.

At the start of round ten at the Spanish MotorLand Aragón circuit, 31-year-old Marcel Schrötter was able to seamlessly build on his performance from Cremona a week ago. The reinvigorated MV Agusta rider finished Friday morning’s free practice session in fifth place, which gave him hope for Superpole, which decides the starting grid.

In the afternoon, Schrötter was able to beat his previous personal best lap time by 0.7 seconds in hot conditions in the hunt for the best grid positions. By putting in a strong 1'53.387 he finished in sixth place on the second row and was also pleased about the small gap to the pole time of the superior world championship leader Adrian Huertas from Spain.

"Sixth place in Superpole was another solid performance. Starting from the second row is absolutely fine, even though I might have expected a bit more after free practice. I had the feeling that I still had something in my poket. But you never know exactly what the others are doing in free practice as far as the tyres are concerned. Unfortunately, we had certain problems in both sessions today, which is why we were unable to fully exploit our potential. The cause is still a little unclear, but my guys in the garage are working hard to find out."

"Apart from that, I feel more comfortable with the bike than I have for a long time this year. So, I am very happy with the situation. Hopefully we can get off to a good start to make up for our shortcoming in the early stages, where we definitely always lose some time. Overall, everything is going well so far, and I am looking forward to the races, where the first few laps will be crucial to stay in the game. It will also be very exciting to see how the tires behave over the distance due to the new asphalt. Towards the end, it could well be that it's all about getting through. But we're starting the race from a good position on Saturday afternoon, so I'm very happy."
