Marcel Schrötter musste sich im ersten Aragón-Rennen am Samstag mächtig ins Zeug legen, um wenigstens ein paar Punkte zu holen.

Nach einem starken Freitag, an dem sich Marcel Schrötter den sechsten Startplatz sicherte, verlief der erste Renntag beim zehnten Meeting der Supersport-Weltmeisterschaft im MotorLand Aragón in Spanien für den ambitionierten Oberbayern enttäuschend. Schon im Warm-up, das Schrötter als 13. beendete, zeigten sich die Probleme. Im Rennen am Nachmittag hatte er vor allem auf der fast einen Kilometer langen Geraden keine Chance.

Das zweite Rennen am Sonntagnachmittag bildet den Abschluss des Wochenendes in Spanien. Die Startzeit ist 15:15 Uhr. Die Live-Übertragung wird auf der Online-Plattform von «ServusTV» sowie im Stream auf der offiziellen WorldSBK-Website zu sehen sein.

"Der heutige Tag war überhaupt nicht so, wie man es erwarten würde. Vor allem nach dem guten Start ins Wochenende gestern. Aber ich konnte schon in den gestrigen Sessions ein wenig spüren, dass sich das Problem irgendwie von Session zu Session einschleicht. Es wurde fast von Runde zu Runde schlimmer und schlimmer. Wir leiden ein wenig unter einem Leistungsverlust, was es für mich extrem schwierig macht. Trotzdem tue ich mein Bestes, und auch mein Team versucht, mit dem, was wir zur Verfügung haben, alles Mögliche zu tun. Leider ist es nicht möglich kurzfristig den Motor zu wechseln. Aber sie geben sich wirklich Mühe und suchen fieberhaft nach der Ursache. Trotzdem ist es für mich sehr frustrierend, denn seit Cremona fühle ich mich wieder sehr wohl auf dem Motorrad. Aber wenn man keine Chance hat oder auf den Geraden leichte Beute ist und nicht einmal im Windschatten mitfahren kann, dann wird es extrem schwierig. Deshalb hoffe ich, dass wir bis morgen etwas finden, um das Wochenende noch ein wenig zu retten."

EN: P11 despite loss of engine power

Marcel Schrötter had to work hard in the first Aragón race on Saturday to score at least a few points.

After a strong Friday, on which Marcel Schrötter secured sixth place on the grid, the first day of racing at round ten of the 2024 FIM Supersport World Championship at Spain’s MotorLand Aragón circuit came to an end with a big disappointment for the ambitious rider from Upper Bavaria. The problems were already apparent in this morning’s warm-up, which Schrötter finished in 13th place. In the race in the afternoon, he had no chance, especially along the almost one kilometers long straight.

"Today was not at all what you would expect. Especially after the good start to the weekend yesterday. But I could already feel in yesterday's sessions that the problem was somehow creeping in from session to session. It got worse and worse almost from lap to lap. We are suffering a bit from a loss of engine power, which makes it extremely difficult for me. Nevertheless, I am doing my best and my team is also trying to do everything possible with what we have available. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the engine at short notice. But they are trying really hard and are feverishly searching for the cause. Nevertheless, it is very frustrating for me, because since Cremona I feel very comfortable with the bike again. But if you have no chance or are easy prey on the straights, and you cannot even stay in the slipstream, then it becomes extremely difficult. That is why I hope that we can find something by tomorrow to salvage the weekend a little."
