Marcel Schrötter landete auch im dritten Saisonrennen auf dem Podium.

Der 31-jährige Marcel Schrötter erwischte einen Blitzstart in den ersten Renntag beim Stopp der FIM Supersport World Championship auf dem Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya mit der Bestzeit im Warm-up am Vormittag. Die kühleren Temperaturen kamen ihm dabei zugute, während er am heissen Nachmittag mehr Mühe mit seiner MV Agusta hatte.

Am Sonntag wird um 15:15 Uhr das zweite Hauptrennen des Wochenendes gestartet. Es kann im gesamten deutschsprachigen Raum auf ServusTV Online sowie über die App «ServusTV On» und auf der offiziellen WorldSBK-Website via Live-Stream mitverfolgt werden.

"Mit dem heutigen Podium müssen wir definitiv zufrieden sein. Unser Ziel ist es, in jedem Rennen um das Podium zu kämpfen und es im besten Fall auch zu erreichen. Das ist das Positive daran. Das weniger Positive ist, dass ich mich auf dem Motorrad nach wie vor nicht ganz so wohl fühle. Ich konnte über die gesamte Renndistanz nie richtig attackieren, ich hatte das Gefühl, in einem Cruising-Modus mit 0,0 Grip unterwegs zu sein. Durch die Zweikämpfe am Start war die Spitze schnell weg und ich hatte keine Reserven, um schneller zu fahren, geschweige denn aufzuholen. Das heisst, wir haben definitiv noch Arbeit vor uns, auch wenn der Wetterbericht kühlere Temperaturen voraussagt. Das sollte uns entgegenkommen. Andererseits stellt sich die Frage, ob der weichere Reifen der richtige ist. Stefano Manzi ist heute mit dem harten Reifen gefahren, was bei kühleren Bedingungen eher ein Vorteil für ihn ist. Wir werden sehen, was morgen passiert. Für den Moment bin ich mit dem dritten Platz zufrieden und hoffe, dass wir morgen etwas mehr in den Kampf um den Sieg eingreifen können."

Marcel Schrötter also finished on the podium in the third race of the season.

31-year-old Marcel Schrötter from Germany made a lightning start to the first day of racing at the FIM Supersport World Championship’s second stop at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya by positing fastest lap time in this morning’s warm-up session. He benefited from the cooler temperatures, while he had more trouble with his MV Agusta in the hot afternoon.

The second main race of the weekend will start at 15:15 on Sunday. It can be followed live on ServusTV Online, via "ServusTV On" app and at the official WorldSBK website in all German-speaking countries.

"We definitely have to be satisfied with today's podium. Our goal is to fight for the podium in every race and, in the best case, to achieve it. That is the positive thing about it. The less positive thing is that I still do not feel quite as comfortable on the bike. I was never really able to attack over the entire race distance, I had the feeling of being in a cruising mode with 0.0 grip. The battles at the beginning meant that the front runners were quickly gone, and I had no reserves to go faster, neither to catch them up. That means we definitely still have work to do, even if the weather forecast predicts cooler temperatures. That should suit us. On the other hand, the question arises as to whether the softer tyre is the right one. Stefano Manzi rode with the hard option today, which is more of an advantage for him in cooler conditions. So, we will see what happens tomorrow. But for now, I am happy with today’s third place and hope that we can get a little more involved in the fight for victory tomorrow."
