Auf Marcel Schrötter wartet das wohl wichtigste Rennen des Jahres an diesem Wochenende im benachbarten Tschechien. Für den ehrgeizigen Rennfahrer geht es in erster Linie darum, seine Ergebnisse vom letzten Mal zu rehabilitieren.

Marcel Schrötter kam am vorletzten Wochenende in Cremona, Italien, nicht über die Plätze zehn und elf hinaus. Mit der tatkräftigen Unterstützung der eigenen Fans, von denen viele im grenznahen Most zu erwarten sind, will sich der 32-jährige Bayer bei Runde fünf der Saison wieder im Spitzenfeld etablieren.

Das Autodrom Most, benannt nach der gleichnamigen Stadt im Nordwesten des Landes, ist noch ein relativ neuer Austragungsort für die Weltmeisterschaft mit seriennahen Rennmaschinen. An diesem Wochenende reist der Tross bereits zum fünften Mal in die Tschechische Republik. Die Rennstrecke besticht durch ein überwiegend flüssiges Layout mit 21 abwechslungsreichen Kurven in einem ehemaligen Braunkohletagebau. Achtung, der geänderte Zeitplan des Wochenendes: Die Superpole sowie die Rennen 1 und 2 finden diesmal kurz nach Mittag statt.

Live-Übertragungen der Supersport-Rennen gibt es an diesem Wochenende wie gewohnt auf digitalen Plattformen wie dem Online-Portal des österreichischen Senders «ServusTV On», dem «Eurosport Player» und auf der offiziellen WorldSBK-Website geben, wo alle Sessions des Wochenendes live übertragen werden. Letztere ist allerdings kostenpflichtig und verfügt über einen englischen Kommentar.

«In den letzten anderthalb Wochen nach Cremona ist leider viel geschrieben worden, was definitiv nicht meine Absicht war. Zum Glück ist hinter den Kulissen und innerhalb des Teams alles in Ordnung. Wir werden in Most wie gewohnt weitermachen, worüber ich sehr froh bin. Ich freue mich auch auf Most, weil es praktisch mein Heimrennen ist. Es werden viele deutsche Fans da sein und auch viele Freunde aus meiner Heimat in Bayern. Es wird also etwas ganz Besonderes für mich sein. Es tut mir auch leid für alle Fans, Sponsoren und Gönner, denn alle hätten sich mehr erhofft. Aber die Situation ist nun mal so. Hinzu kommt, dass die Konkurrenz in diesem Jahr wieder viel enger zusammengerückt ist. Alle sind schneller geworden, was man an den Abständen in Cremona sehr gut erkennen kann.»

«Mit einem Rückstand von nur sieben Zehnteln in der Superpole landete ich nur in der sechsten Startreihe. Vor vier oder fünf Jahren wäre man mit diesem Rückstand noch in der ersten oder zumindest in der zweiten Reihe gestanden. Man darf nicht unterschätzen, wie sehr das Niveau in der Supersport-Weltmeisterschaft gestiegen ist. Deshalb werden die Details immer wichtiger. Vorbei sind die Zeiten, in denen die Moto2-Fahrer kamen und sofort Rennen gewannen. So einfach ist es nicht mehr. Alles muss passen. Deshalb hoffe ich, dass wir Fortschritte machen werden und dass ich mich auf mich selbst konzentriere, um das Beste herauszuholen und starke Rennen zu fahren. Auf jeden Fall freue ich mich auf das nächste Rennwochenende, an dem ich Spass haben und meinen Fans etwas bieten möchte. Und natürlich möchte ich meinem Team bei ihrem Heimspiel auch etwas zurückgeben.»

EN: «Home round» in Most

Probably the most important race of the year awaits Marcel Schrötter this weekend in the neighbouring Czech Republic. For the ambitious racer, it is primarily about rehabilitating his results from last time.

Marcel Schrötter finished tenth and eleventh in Cremona, Italy, the weekend before last. With the active support of his own fans, many of whom are expected in Most, which is just a stone's throw from the German border, the 32-year-old Bavarian wants to re-establish himself at the fierce end of the highly competitive field at round five of the season.

The Autodrom Most, named after the town of the same name in the north-west of the country, is still a relatively new venue for the World Championship with production-based race bikes. This weekend marks the fifth time that the entourage has travelled to the Czech Republic. The track boasts a predominantly fast and flowing layout with 21 varied corners in a former open-cast lignite mine. Please note the changed schedule for the weekend: Superpole and Races 1 and 2 will take place shortly after midday this time.

«Unfortunately, a lot has been published in the last week and a half after Cremona, which was definitely not my intention. Fortunately, everything is fine behind the scenes and within the team. We will continue as usual in Most, which I am very happy about. I am also looking forward to Most because it is literally speaking my home race. There will be a lot of German fans there and also a lot of friends from my home in Bavaria. So, it will be something very special for me. I also feel sorry for all the fans, sponsors and patrons, because everyone would have hoped for more. But that is just the way things are. What is more, the competition has become much closer again this year. Everyone has become faster, which you can see very clearly from the gaps in Cremona.»

«With a gap of just seven tenths in Superpole, I only ended up on the sixth row of the grid. Four or five years ago, with this gap you would have been on the front row or at least on the second row. It should not underestimate how much the level in the Supersport World Championship has risen. That is why all details are becoming increasingly important. Gone are the days when Moto2 riders came in and immediately won races. It is no longer that simple. Everything has to fit. That is why I hope that we will make progress and that I will focus on myself to get the best out of it and put in strong races. In any case, I am looking forward to the upcoming race weekend, where I want to have fun and show my fans something. And of course, I also want to give something back to my team at their home race.»
