Marcel Schrötter geht allerdings leicht gehandicapt in das vierte Rennwochenende der aktuellen FIM Supersport World Championship in Misano.

Der 31-jährige Marcel Schrötter blickt mit gemischten Gefühlen auf die bevorstehende WM-Runde auf dem Misano World Circuit in Italien. Einerseits freut er sich auf dieses Event und auch darauf, nach der ungewöhnlich langen Pause in der Meisterschaft wieder ins Renngeschehen zurückzukehren. Andererseits machen ihm anhaltende Schmerzen im Schulterbereich und fehlende Kraft nach dem Sturz beim Test vor zwei Wochen am gleichen Ort etwas Sorgen.

Der ehrgeizige und erfahrene Rennfahrer aus Bayern ist aber zuversichtlich, dass es beim Fahren keine Probleme geben wird.

In der Zwischenzeit hat es auch eine Änderung im Kalender gegeben. Der für Ende August geplante Weltmeisterschaftslauf in Ungarn wurde gestrichen. Stattdessen wurde Estoril, Portugal, für das Wochenende um den 13. Oktober hinzugefügt.

"Auf jeden Fall ist es an der Zeit, dass es in der Meisterschaft mit dem nächsten Rennwochenende weitergeht. Vor zwei Wochen hatten wir einen Test in Misano und ich war sehr froh, dass wir diese Gelegenheit genutzt haben. Ich möchte dem Team danken, dass sie dies möglich gemacht haben. Alle Topteams und Spitzenfahrer in der Punktetabelle waren da, also war es für uns sehr wichtig, dabei zu sein. Wir hätten diese Gelegenheit wegen der Vorbereitung auf das Rennwochenende nicht verpassen dürfen. Auch wegen des neuen Zeitplans für das Wochenende mit nur einem freien Training und der anschließenden Superpole ist die Vorbereitung und die Art und Weise, wie man das Wochenende beginnt, noch bedeutender geworden. Misano ist für mich kein unbekanntes Pflaster. Trotzdem war es eine lange Pause, und dieser Test kam zum richtigen Zeitpunkt. Ich denke, wir können daher auf einem ganz anderen Niveau starten."

"Der einzige negative Aspekt ist, dass ich während des Tests einen Sturz hatte, der mich zunächst nicht sonderlich beeinträchtigt hat. Aber in den Tagen danach zeigte sich schnell, dass die Nachwirkungen schlimmer waren als erwartet. Es fehlt mir immer noch an Kraft und Beweglichkeit, obwohl ich inzwischen viel Physiotherapie gemacht habe. Ich habe nichts unversucht gelassen, um für das Rennwochenende in bestmöglicher Verfassung zu sein. Es ist aber davon auszugehen, dass ich nicht zu 100 Prozent fit sein werde. Zumindest hoffe ich, dass es mich auf dem Motorrad nicht beeinträchtigt und ich trotzdem meine Leistung bringen kann. Das ist der einzige Punkt, der mich minimal beunruhigt, denn Misano ist ein Rennen, das an sich schon anstrengend genug ist und die gesamte Konkurrenz ist auf dieser Strecke sehr schnell. Aber ich werde alles tun, um das so gut wie möglich zu bewältigen. Trotzdem bin ich froh, dass es endlich wieder weitergeht. Vor allem, da Misano immer eine coole Veranstaltung ist, bei der meine Familie und viele Freunde dabei sind. Ich hoffe, dass wir auch dieses Mal wieder ein schönes Wochenende erleben können."

31-year-old Marcel Schrötter has mixed feelings about the World Championship’s visit to the Misano World Circuit in Italy this weekend. On the one hand, he is looking forward to this event and also to returning to racing after the unusually long break in the championship. On the other hand, persistent pain in his shoulder area and a lack of strength after the crash at the test two weeks ago at the same venue are causing him some concern.

However, the ambitious and experienced racer from Bavaria is confident that there will be no problems when riding his MV Agusta F3.

Meanwhile, there has also been a change to the calendar. The World Championship debut race in Hungary scheduled for the end of August has been cancelled. Instead of that, Estoril, Portugal, has been added for the weekend around October 13.

"In any case, it's time for the championship to continue with the next race weekend. Two weeks ago, we had a test in Misano and I was very happy that we took this opportunity. I would like to thank the team for making this possible. All the top teams and top riders in the points standing took part, so it was very important for us to be there either. We should not have missed this opportunity because of the preparation for the race weekend. Also, because of the new schedule for the weekend with only one free practice session followed by Superpole, the preparation and the way you start the weekend has become even more important. Misano is not an unfamiliar territory for me. Nevertheless, it was a long break, and this test came at the right time. I think we can therefore start on a completely different level."

"The only negative aspect is that I had a crash during the test, which didn't affect me much at first. But in the days after, it quickly became apparent that after-effects were worse than expected. I still lack strength and mobility, although I've done a lot of physiotherapy in the meantime. I have left no stone unturned to be in the best possible condition for the race weekend. However, it can be assumed that I won't be at 100 percent in terms of my physical condition. At least I hope that it won't affect me rding the bike and that I can still perform at my best. That's the only point that worries me a bit, because Misano is a race that is tough enough in itself and all the competitors are very fast at this track. But I will do everything I can to cope with it as well as possible. Nevertheless, I'm glad that things are finally moving on again in the series. Especially as Misano is always a cool event where my family and many friends are coming to support me. I hope that we can have a great weekend again this time."
