Nach einem arbeitsintensiven ersten Tag bei der WM-Runde in Frankreich musste sich Marcel Schrötter in der Superpole mit Platz 16 begnügen, sieht jedoch viel Potenzial für Verbesserungen für die Rennen an diesem Wochenende.

Die neunte Station im Kalender der FIM Superbike World Championship 2025 ist die Rennstrecke von Magny-Cours in Frankreich. Das Meeting im Burgund beendet die Sommerpause und läutet den Beginn des letzten Drittels der Saison ein. Für Marcel Schrötter ist dies ein wichtiges Ereignis, um im bisherigen Saisonverlauf eine Wende herbeizuführen.

Marcel Schrötter startete das Wochenende auf Platz 20 im einzigen freien Training, und auch während der Superpole standen Abstimmungsarbeiten im Vordergrund, sodass der 32-jährige Deutsche am Samstag aus der sechsten Startreihe ins erste Rennen gehen wird.

«Es war leider kein einfacher Start ins Wochenende, obwohl ich mir erhofft hatte, etwas konkurrenzfähiger zu sein. Aber wir haben gesehen, dass wir mit den Grundeinstellungen noch ein wenig von guten Werten entfernt sind. Aber wir haben wichtige Daten gesammelt und können für morgen definitiv ein paar Dinge verbessern, um mit den aktuellen Einstellungen besser zu arbeiten und dann für die Rennen Schritte zu machen. Das Fazit des heutigen Tages ist, dass wir noch viel Arbeit vor uns haben, sehen aber auch Verbesserungspotenzial für morgen und Sonntag.»

EN: Not the hoped for opening day, but confident

After a busy Friday at the World Championship’s visit to France, Marcel Schrötter had to settle for 16th place in Superpole but sees plenty of potential for improvement for this weekend's races.

Round nine of the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship calendar sees the series racing at the Magny-Cours circuit in France. The meeting in Burgundy marks the end of the summer break and heralds the start of the final third of the season. For Marcel Schrötter, this is an important event in terms of turning his season around.

Schrötter, however, started the weekend in 20th place in the single free practice session of the weekend, and setup work was also the focus during Superpole, meaning that the 32-year-old German rider will start Saturday's Race 1 from the sixth row of the starting grid.

«Unfortunately, it was not an easy start to the weekend, even though I had hoped to be a little bit more competitive. But we saw that we are still a bit off from good lap times with the basic settings. However, we collected some important data and can definitely improve a few things for tomorrow to work better with the current settings and then make progress for the races. The conclusion from today is that we still have a lot of work to do, but we also see potential for improvement for tomorrow and Sunday.»
