Marcel Schrötter hatte im Samstagrennen viel Mühe mit den unterschiedlichen Streckenverhältnissen entlang einer Runde auf dem TT Circuit.

Anhaltend wechselhaftes Wetter brachte am Samstag beim Besuch der Supersport-Weltmeisterschaft in Assen aus der Sicht von Marcel Schrötter etwas ungewollte Würze in das erste Rennen des Wochenendes. Die letzten Vorbereitungen vor dem Start wurden zu einer spannenden Frage, mit welchen Reifen man das Rennen beginnen würde. Marcel Schrötter entschied sich auf einer bereits weitgehend abgetrockneten Strecke für die Trockenvariante. Es dauerte jedoch einige Runden, bis im gesamten Verlauf einer Runde eine trockene Spur zur Verfügung stand und der MV Agusta-Pilot sich anpassen konnte und immer schneller wurde. Der zwölfte Platz im Ziel ist dennoch unbefriedigend, obwohl er in der Gesamtwertung weiterhin in Schlagdistanz ist.

«ServusTV Online» wird das zweite Rennen am Sonntag wieder live übertragen, ebenso wie die «ServusTV On»-App und der Stream auf der offiziellen WorldSBK-Website. Eurosport 2 wird am Abend eine Aufzeichnung ausstrahlen.

"Ich bin enttäuscht. Die Bedingungen am Start haben mir überhaupt nicht gepasst, denn wenn ganze Sektoren komplett nass sind, tue ich mich mit Slicks unglaublich schwer. Wahrscheinlich kann ich in solchen Situationen meinen Kopf nicht genug abschalten. Es fühlt sich für mich so an, als wäre ich schon am Limit und könnte jeden Moment stürzen. Aber andere haben heute wieder gezeigt, dass das möglich ist. Das macht ein Rennen wie dieses kaputt für mich. Auf der anderen Seite war es wichtig, dass ich auf dem Motorrad sitzengeblieben bin und Punkte geholt habe. Leider haben meine stärksten Konkurrenten in der Meisterschaft die Plätze eins und zwei belegt, was für mich sehr ungünstig war."

"Zumindest konnte ich zum Ende hin etwas Boden gutmachen und die fünftschnellste Rundenzeit im Rennen fahren. Das ist sehr wichtig für die Startaufstellung morgen und gleichzeitig das einzig Positive am heutigen Tag. Mit Slicks auf komplett nassen Abschnitten zu fahren, war noch nie meine Stärke. Ich fühle mich bei Streckenbedingungen wie zu Beginn des Rennens einfach nicht wohl. Entweder ist komplett nass, und dann mit Regenreifen natürlich, obwohl wir da noch Nachholbedarf haben. Ich hoffe also auf trockene Bedingungen morgen, denn ich denke, da können wir ein Wörtchen mitreden, damit wir Assen mit einem soliden Ergebnis verlassen können."

Marcel Schrötter had a lot of trouble in Saturday's race with the track’s different conditions along one lap at the TT Circuit.

On Saturday, ongoing changeable weather brought some unwanted spice to the first race of the weekend from Marcel Schrötter's point of view when FIM Supersport World Championship visits Assen this weekend. The final preparations before the start turned into an exciting question of which tyres to choose going into the race. Marcel Schrötter opted for the dry option at a track that had already largely dried out. However, it took a few laps until a dry trail was available for the entire lap and the MV Agusta rider was able to adapt and got faster and faster. Twelfth place at the finish is nevertheless unsatisfactory, although he is still within striking distance in the overall standings.

«ServusTV Online» will once again broadcast the second race live on Sunday, as will the «ServusTV On» app and the stream via the official WorldSBK website. Eurosport 2 will broadcast a recording in the evening.

"I am disappointed. The conditions at the start did not suit me at all, because when entire sectors are completely wet, I find it incredibly difficult to race with slick tyres there. I probably cannot switch my head off enough in such situations. It feels to me as if I am already at the limit and could crash at any moment. But others have shown again today that this is possible. That ruins a race like this for me. On the other hand, it was important that I remained sitting on the bike and scored points. Unfortunately, my strongest rivals in the championship took first and second place, which was very unfavorable for me."

"At least I was able to make up some ground towards the end and set fifth-fastest lap time during the race. That is very important for the starting grid tomorrow and at the same time the only positive thing about today. Riding with slicks at completely wet sections has never been my strong point. I just do not feel comfortable in track conditions like at the start of today’s race. It is either completely wet, and then with rain tyres of course, although we still have some catching up to do. So, I am hoping for dry conditions tomorrow, because I think we can have a say in that so that we can leave Assen with a solid result."
