Marcel Schrötter hat vor dem letzten beiden Rennen zur «EURO MOTO»-Superbike 2026 noch theoretische Chancen auf den Titelgewinn. Um sein grosses Ziel zu erreichen, will er an diesem Wochenende auf dem Hockenheimring alles geben.

Für Marcel Schrötter geht an diesem Wochenende auf der Traditionsrennstrecke in Baden-Württemberg eine mehr als ereignisreiche Rennsaison zu Ende, denn dort steht Runde sieben der «EURO MOTO»-Serie, das Saisonfinale, auf dem Programm.

Schrötter kommt derzeit auf dem zweiten Platz in der Gesamtwertung zum Hockenheimring, 34,5 Punkte hinter dem Führenden und Titelverteidiger Lukas Tulovic. Der BMW-Pilot Schrötter weiss genau, was er tun muss, um die Saison mit einem Paukenschlag zu beenden. Der 33-Jährige und sein Team GERT56 by RS Speebikes haben zwei Rennsiege im Visier und hoffen, dass sich bei der Zieldurchfahrt möglichst viele Fahrer zwischen ihm und Tulovic befinden.

Beim vorletzten Event der «EURO MOTO»-Superbike Anfang des Monats auf dem Nürburgring kam Schrötter zweimal als Zweiter vor seinem härtesten Konkurrenten im Kampf um die Meisterkrone ins Ziel.

«Mit dem Finale in der «EURO MOTO»-Superbike geht es für mich gleich weiter. Bis zu meiner Abreise werde ich versuchen, mich so gut wie möglich vom 24-Stunden-Rennen am vergangenen Wochenende zu erholen. Aber ich freue mich auch schon sehr auf Hockenheim. Was den Streckenverlauf angeht, wird es für mich wieder einmal spannend werden. Es ist schon sehr lange her, dass ich dort zuletzt ein Rennen gefahren bin. Zumindest konnte ich mich vor zwei Monaten als Coach bei einem Hafeneger-Renntraining ein wenig wieder mit der Strecke vertraut machen. Es war definitiv keine schlechte Idee, ein paar Runden zu drehen, auch wenn ich weit vom echten Renntempo entfernt war. Ausserdem bin ich mit Serienmotorrädern gefahren. Aber es war auf jeden Fall hilfreich, wieder ein Gefühl für die Strecke zu bekommen.»

«Aber dieses Wochenende wartet sicher eine weitere Herausforderung auf mich, und ich freue mich schon sehr darauf. Ausserdem freue ich mich sehr, dass meine Familie, viele Sponsoren und Freunde kommen werden, um mich anzufeuern. Ich hoffe, wir können alle ein grossartiges Saisonfinale erleben und viel Spass haben. Was mich betrifft, möchte ich es in vollen Zügen geniessen, vor allem auf der Rennstrecke. Mein Ziel ist klar: am Sonntag zweimal zu gewinnen. Und dann werden wir sehen, was am Ende herauskommt. Ich freue mich also auf das letzte Rennwochenende und bin sehr gespannt, wie die Saison zu Ende geht.»

EN: Going all-in at the season’s finale

With two races remaining in the 2026 «EURO MOTO» Superbike Championship, Marcel Schrötter still has a theoretical chance of winning the title. To achieve his big goal, he plans to give it his all this weekend at the Hockenheimring.

For Marcel Schrötter, a more than eventful racing season is coming to an end this weekend at the historic racetrack in Baden-Württemberg, where Round 7 of this year’s «EURO MOTO» series, its season finale, is on the schedule.

Schrötter is currently in second place in the overall standings heading to the Hockenheimring, 34.5 points behind the leader and defending champion Lukas Tulovic. BMW rider Schrötter knows exactly what he needs to do to end the season with a bang. The 33-year-old and his team, GERT56 by RS Speebikes, have their sights set on two race wins and are hoping that as many riders as possible will be between him and Tulovic when they cross the finish line.

At the penultimate round of the «EURO MOTO» Superbike series earlier this month at the Nürburgring, Schrötter finished second twice, both times ahead of his toughest rival in the battle for the championship title.

«There isn’t a long rest to head into the last round of the «EURO MOTO» Superbike series. Until I leave home, I’ll try to recover as much as possible from last weekend’s 24-hour race in France. But I’m also really looking forward to Hockenheim. As far as the track layout goes, it’s going to be exciting for me once again. It’s been a very long time since I raced last time there. At least I was able to reacquaint myself a bit with the track two months ago as a coach at a Hafeneger race training session. It was definitely not a bad idea to do a few laps, even though I was far from riding at race pace. Plus, I was riding production bikes. But it was definitely helpful to get a feel for the track again.»

«So, I’m sure another challenge awaits me this weekend though, I’m really looking forward to it. I’m also very excited that my family, many sponsors, and friends will be coming to cheer me on. I hope we can all experience a great season’s finale and have a lot of fun. As for me, I want to enjoy it to the fullest, especially out on track. My goal is clear: to win twice on Sunday. And then we’ll see how it all turns out in the end. So, I’m looking forward to the final race weekend and am very excited to see how the season wraps up.»
